I’m Franz, a photographer based in DC. The first camera I ever had was an old AT&T sliding phone. It was nothing fancy but it was what I could afford, and I used it to shoot anything that caught my attention. I didn’t think about technique or style back then. I just liked freezing moments so I could look back at them later.

That hasn’t really changed. Now I use better gear, but the curiosity is the same. I shoot concerts, portraits, and street scenes because I like people and the energy that comes with them. The way someone’s face catches the light in a crowd, or how a quiet street can still tell a story, that’s what I’m after.

Photography fits in between the rest of my life with school, work, and all the things that keep me busy. It is the space where I get to slow down, pay attention, and create something that feels real.

I see value in photos because each memory is just a series of unrepeatable particles of light waiting to be captured and kept.
